Costa Rican Getaway | Arenal Volcano
If you're into nature, reconnecting with yourself and subtle luxury then this is for you.
Not too many moons ago I was in Costa Rica, deciding what new adventure to embark, places to go and things to see. (Non-patriotic fact: I've done more touristy things not living in Costa Rica, than what I did when I was there, but anywho... let's cut to the chase).
Say you are near the Arenal Volcano, in San Carlos de Alajuela, Costa Rica, and you feel all sore from zip-lining from tree to tree, hiking through the spectacular rainforest and kayaking in the beautiful lake... wondering where you can go to unwind, soften those stiff muscles and get some much deserved me-time. Well, here at BVD we have the quickest answer to that, make your way to Montaña de Fuego Hotel and Spa. Easy as that.
When you arrive, you'll notice this hotel has arguably the best view of the Arenal Volcano -hands down. On top of that, one of my favorite things is that they have their own oasis of hot springs. They're 3 separate "pools" with different temperatures; separated by mankind, heated naturally by Mother Nature. If that isn't enough, the hotel is also surrounded by 86 acres of lush tropical rainforest, rivers, waterfalls and Costa Rican wildlife. What more can you ask for?
A spa you say?
They have one actually, and it's pretty amazing. At Engadi Spa, you can get your supplest skin with their volcanic mud face masks and revitalizing massages. Bonus points: Most of their products are made from organic, botanical essential oils, raw mineral blends and medicinal plants.
The hotel has various specialty packages at very fair prices I might add. Their All-Inclusive Package is only $150 a night and it includes an activity -say horseback riding along the skirts of the volcano, and a spa treatment -say a Relaxation for Tired Legs Massage. Sounds amazing? It is.
If you're local and have never been here, what are you waiting for? If you're foreign and have never been here? We ask the same question. Find out all about them here!
Where is this paradise?
4,9 miles west from La Fortuna downtown. On the way to Arenal Volcano National Park. National Route 142 La Fortuna- Arenal, San Carlos de Alajuela, Costa Rica.
