Designer Spotlight: Edie Parker

Let's start this post with a confession, I have never considered myself an ultra-girly girl. When I was younger I would always try to be cool, staying away from shiny things and pink altogether. However, nowadays as I grow older and "wiser" I've come to realize that it was nonsense and that in reality I love shiny things... Pink? maybe not so much, we're still working our way through.

Now, one thing I've always known is that I am a sucker for eye-catching accessories. I am a believer that any outfit can go from zero to hero with the right choice of bags and shoes. If I don't want them looking at my basic tee, then I'll play my sparkliest bags as the lead character.

So whenever I'm feeling uninspired by my outfit I make sure to choose some attention-grabbing accessories and I'm good to go! That's why, when I got my hands on the Flavia clutch by Edie Parker I was immediately in love. It's sparkly, it's structured, and it most definitely is a fashion statement.

These clutches are built by hand-pouring acrylic into molds, right here in the USA. This artisanal way of production adds to the uniqueness of the products; they end up having different densities, creaminess, uniformity and looks.

Brett Heyman—founder and designer of Edie Parker—learned the ropes of high fashion while working for Gucci, Elle Magazine, Giorgio Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana.

This clutch is so versatile, you can dress it up or down. It works just was well for a ritzy night-time event or for a fashionable lunch meeting on a Tuesday. I like to think of it as a handheld fashion masterpiece.

It's as if a vintage clutch from the 50's had a baby with a space unicorn, and they called it Flavia.

These clutches feature a kiss-lock closure, which is oh-so-very-retro and when you open it up, there's a vanity mirror inside! *Insert little girl shriek* Talk about convenience. If you've ever been in the back of a Uber on your way somewhere and felt the need to touch up you pout, this is the best bag for it. Forget little compact mirrors... go all out with a mirror bag.

Finally, to make the Edie Parker world even more fun, you can add words to your clutch! Both in cursive and script fonts, you can pick between your name, your favorite word, random dictionary words you think look smart or even a nice reminder for yourself like, "Food" or "Netflix" or maybe something cooler like, "Wintour Jr." or something like that.

You can customize your clutch until you make it your own unique creation.

These bags are fun and eclectic. They liven up any outfit and are most definitely a conversation piece. They're ice-breaking notes in their own nature.
